rofmiaの製品は、馬革を主に使用しています。国内のタンナーで鞣された革を、さらに厳選して手配しています。馬革の特徴はしなやかで柔らかく、軽量できめの細かいことにあります。多くの革を使ったバッグでも、非常に軽やかな仕上がりになります。 素上げと呼ばれる仕上げは、革本来の持つ手に吸い付くような質感をそのまま残す事ができます。顔料による艶がないため、深く品のある印象となります。
馬は気性が荒く運動量の多い動物の為、革には多くの傷が残っています。効率よく馬革を使うためには、顔料でコーティングし、傷やスレを隠す必要があります。rofmiaでは素上げの状態のものを使用し、肌触りと深い色味を残しています。 製品の品質を保つため、本来の約2倍の要尺を使用しています。それでも傷やスレを避けきれず、目立たない部位に入れ込んで使用する場合があります。むしろその傷やスレこそ、馬革の特徴であり魅力でもあります。その点ご了承の上どうぞご検討下さい。※馬革の傷やムラを含めて、このジャケットのデザインと考えております。より均一な品質の革をお求めの方は、国産(北海道産)の牛革をお勧めしております。革ごとの特徴などお気軽にお問い合わせくださいませ。
